Cold Peel vs Warm Peel | Resources

Welcome to the JPPlus Resource Center!

Your resource for support for: Engraving | Sublimation | Toner Heat-Transfer | UV-LED & more!

When heat transfer printing, you'll have to peel away the unused portion of the transfer. It's important to note if your transfer paper is "cool peel" or "warm peel."

Warm peel transfers should be removed from your garment or substrate while the item is warm to the touch (not hot...we don't want you burning yourself!). This is when it's easiest to remove the leftover transfer. Should your item cool completely, you still may be able to get the transfer off...it just may take more work.

With cold peel, you should let the item cool completely before removing the excess transfer. If you start that process while the substrate or garment is still warm, you may end up removing part of the transfer or experience bubbling or stretching.

JPPlus has a wide selection of printers from iColor, the leading name in heat transfer printing.

If you have any other questions on heat transfer printing, please contact a Customer Service Representative via the Chat icon located in the lower right hand corner of any page, via email at service@jpplus.com or by phone at 800-869-7800, Monday through Friday 8am to 8pm EST.
